oh, tannenbaum
A few Christmases past Matt and I have gone up to the mountains to find our tree. The Forest Service sells $10 permits that allow you to harvest a 12' noble tree from the National Forest and take it home. While 12' may sound big...it's actually pretty hard to find a tree that small in a big forest. But, they tend to lead would-be tree finders to the right area of the forest that have several smaller trees. This year the Forest Service suspended snow plowing of the roads leading to the trees. Given the early snow we've had this year, the roads required chains followed by a hike in the snow. Sounds like a perfect Gibson adventure...so we headed up to Snoqualmie pass this morning to go find our perfect tree for Josephine's first Christmas.
